For over 40 years, our volunteers have been the lifeblood of Near West Theatre.

At NWT, we offer over 300 opportunities each year to get involved from backstage to the box office. Volunteers are critical to the smooth sailing of every single show and event. We simply could not do what we do without the loving help of our community.

Front of House - The First Impression

Be the first to welcome audiences into the magic of live theatre! As a Front-of-House Volunteer at Near West Theatre, you’ll help create a warm and inviting experience for every guest. From ushering and scanning tickets to assisting at concessions and merchandise, you’ll play a key role in making our performances unforgettable. Whether you're a longtime theatre lover or new to the scene, volunteering is a fun and rewarding way to connect with the community.

No prior experience is needed—just a friendly attitude and a passion for people! All volunteers will go through a volunteer training to learn about the ins and outs of all of our volunteer roles.
