Near West Theatre will stream All Roads Lead to Home, an original musical showcase, from December 18 through January 3
CLEVELAND – Near West Theatre (NWT) announces the second show in its most unconventional season thus far: All Roads Lead to Home, a performance showcase of popular music, spoken word, and storytelling by local artists and five decades of NWT alumni, directed by Trinidad Snider, the organization’s Artistic Director. The show is presented by PNC.
“This year led people down many roads of self-awareness and discovery. These are difficult roads to journey on, and 2020 is leaving everyone changed. But the one thing that has remained constant is the power of art to lift us up. Near West Theatre has always strived to be a home for those who enjoy celebrating the arts, whether as performers or audience members. This holiday season, we wanted to recognize that sense of home by creating a showcase filled with laughter, songs, and more to raise all of our spirits,” says Snider.
For this production, Near West Theatre is collaborating with five decades of NWT alumni, community leaders, and artists to bring this show to life. In some cases, this show offers performers a return to the stage after years on hiatus.
“I am humbled seeing our community and alumni come together to represent the decades of love and family they have experienced at Near West Theatre and to share that feeling with our larger Cleveland community through this production,” says Mike Obertacz, NWT’s Executive Director. “In times such as these, we felt our audiences could use messages of hope and love for the holidays, and we are thankful to our community and PNC for making this production a success.”
Audiences can expect a performance filled with heartwarming storytelling, and nostalgic musical numbers from pop, jazz, classical crossover, and musical theatre genres that will welcome both newcomers and seasoned NWT family alike. Spoken word and messages of hope will also be delivered by alumni and Near West-side celebrities, including NWT founder Stephanie Morrison-Hrbek, former Councilman Matt Zone, and recently inducted Councilwoman Jenny Spencer.
Performances will be streamed exclusively on demand online from December 18, 2020 through January 3, 2021. Tickets will go on sale on December 18. The theatre employs a Pay What You Can model for every performance, with a suggested donation of $15 per streaming. www.nearwesttheatre.org.
The Near West Theatre Box Office is completely closed due to COVID-19 precautions. Patrons are free to email boxoffice@nearwesttheatre.org to ask questions or receive assistance in purchasing streaming access for All Roads.
