Building flats, welding pieces, operating the fly rail, painting and more!
From June 5 to 28, the eight members of our Summer Tech Workshop have helped bring the world of Carrie, the Musical to our stage. Working with Perren and the rest of our design team, this group has been busy creating a high school inside Near West Theatre!
While constructing the set of Carrie, Summer Tech Workshop participants learned the basic principles of stagecraft, including set & properties construction, scenic painting, and lighting, as well as the safe operation of various hand and power tools as they relate to theatre tech. A number of them will also work crew for Carrie, the Musical, which opens on July 21!
Make sure you come see the completed high school filled with students! This is one prom you don’t want to miss, so get a date, a tux or gown, a corsage, and be there!
