Auditions for Carrie: The Musical

We're calling all 16-25 year olds to come audition for our summer production of Carrie: the Musical in two short weeks!

Who could guess that a Stephen King novel could, would or should become a musical? Well, Carrie's back from the grave and she's singing, too! Smothered by her religiously demented mother, tortured at school and struggling with her emerging sexuality, Carrie just wants to be a normal kid... but she's far from normal. With her coming of age, she's discovering paranormal powers. She can move things! Windows break, people fall, knives fly, and the blood pours! It all builds to prom night, a vicious prank, and an act of vengeance that leaves no one but the dead to tell what happened. A classic morality tale: what goes around, comes around... redemption is not guaranteed!

Join us either May 15, 16 or 17 at 7:30 to audition for this powerful (in every since of the word) show. Auditions will be held at Near West Theatre, located at 6702 Detorit Ave.

This is a group audition in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. No experience or preparation required. Dress for movement. Please plan to stay for the entire time specified, and arrive 15 minutes before audition time to register.

At Near West Theatre we encourage everyone to audition! People of all experience levels, races, ethnicities, neighborhoods, sizes, gender identities and backgrounds are needed. We use theater to build community and relationships. We’re a great place to express yourself and make friends.

CARRIE: THE MUSICAL runs July 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30, August 3, 4, 5 & 6, 2017
Rehearsals begin Tuesday, May 30.

Arrive 15 minutes early to register.
Anyone arriving after the starting time will not audition that day.
