Building (& Painting) Mary Poppins

Posted April 19, 2017 in Press Releases

On February 19th the walls of The Wiz came down and shortly afterwards the walls of Mary Poppins began to rise. With the direction of Bob Navis Jr, the design talents of Cameron Michalak, the carpentry skills of Perren Hedderson as well as the painting skills of Jenny Hitmar, the world of Mary Poppins is coming to life on our stage.

With the many pieces and parts of this set we’ve needed all hands on deck! This past weekend the cast of Mary Poppins stepped in time and helped with painting!

We are forever grateful for our cast and community members who are willing to lend a helping hand. Days like this are just one of the many aspects of loving collaboration that make art happen here at Near West Theatre.
