We’re three weekends into our run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the reviews have been pouring in.
Mark Horning writes, “Prepare to be dazzled, amazed, and thoroughly entertained as Near West Theatre brings you the spectacular return of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat…From the wonderful opening prologue number that introduces Kelcie Nicole Dugger as the narrator, to the full stage finale, Joseph ... will have you smiling, laughing, tapping your feet, and maybe even crying a bit.”

Our audience have been singing Joseph’s praises as well!
“Never before have I experienced such total joy from a theatrical production. Don't miss this. Near West Theatre is a gem.”
“Fabulous production! Great music and the energy from all the actors was overwhelming! Will definitely be back!”
“An absolutely spectacular show, great set, great cast, the lead Robert Kowalewski was especially outstanding.”
“LOVED that it was intergenerational! Loved the sense of community in the company and the house. Fantastic theater elements (costumes, lighting, choreography) and amazing vocal talent! Such an amazing experience!”
“The play was FANTASTIC. I have nothing bad to say. The brothers at Near West were so good. So funny. So well-choreographed. Just great. The ensemble, brothers, narrator, supporting characters, Joseph, and the musicians, costume designer and director and lighting people. It was all just spot on. If you like theater. This is theater. It seems like a wonderful community group with incredible talent.”
Roy Berko, member of The Cleveland Critics Circle, writes, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a fun show for audience of all ages. As evidenced by the extended applause at the end of the show, and the many instances of audience delight displayed during the production, the cast and crew’s efforts were appreciated. Near West Theatre should be praised for carrying out its mission of empowering children, teens and adults through transformational arts.”

Our performance on Thursday is our first Sensory Friendly performance. This evening’s show is open to all and will be performed in a supportive environment for an audience of people who are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or other sensitivity issues, as well as their families & friends. There will be slight adjustments in the house including leaving house lights at half and keeping the doors open. Audience members will be warned before any sudden light changes or any jarring noises. Also, there will be quiet spaces and activity areas set up in the theater lobby for those who need to leave their seats during the performance.
For questions on our Sensory Friendly performance and to purchase tickets, please email or call (216) 961-6391.
