Oliver!

“There are so many connections between Oliver! and today’s world,” says NWT Artistic Director Bob Navis Jr., who doubles as director and musical director of the show. “The gap between rich and poor, religious intolerance, abuse of power, gang culture, domestic violence, dysfunctional relationships, the search for love – we’ve had great cast conversations on these themes. Our task is to understand and relate to these Victorian characters, not judge them, and to bring our own journeys into the mix as we act out the story. The work is enriched by the varied ages, races and experiences of our actors.”
