Is there a waitlist if you reach capacity?
Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and we have capacity for up to 60 campers each week. Families will receive a confirmation email to let them know they have secured a spot for the summer camp. Once we reach capacity, additional interested families will be added to a waitlist.
How do I qualify for a scholarship?
We are offering 4 full-tuition scholarships and 4 half-scholarships for summer camp. Families who fall below the Federal Poverty Guidelines and/or qualify for free lunch will qualify for a full-tuition scholarship. Families who qualify for reduced-price meals will receive a 50% scholarship toward camp registration. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you will need to upload documentation of household income on the registration form or send these documents to Amani Green directly (agreen@nearwesttheatre.org). Once we receive your registration and proof of income, we will review your application and notify you of the scholarship decision. Qualifying scholarships are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Scholarships do not count toward before care or aftercare.
Does the summer camp provide a daily lunch?
Students are responsible for bringing their lunch and beverages each day. We do not have a refrigerator to store lunch boxes, so if items need refrigeration, please include an ice pack. Near West Theatre will provide two daily snacks for all students. Students are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to refill using our on-site water fountain.
Is there a refund policy if my child can no longer attend?
If your child is no longer able to attend Summer Camp, you are entitled to a full refund if you notify us before May 2. If you cancel registration between May 2 to May 23, you will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be processed after May 23.
Please contact agreen@nearwesttheatre.org with any additional questions.
