SOAR! Teen Orchestra Pit

It’s the music of something beginning. Can you feel it? It’s Ragtime.

The SOAR! Teen Orchestra at Near West Theatre is a unique opportunity for young musicians (ages 13–19) to be part of a fully staged production of Ragtime. This program brings together dedicated student musicians to collaborate, grow, and contribute to a powerful, story-driven theatrical experience.

With a score that blends ragtime, jazz, gospel, and musical theatre, Ragtime calls for musicians ready to engage both technically and emotionally, supporting the orchestra's storytelling and shaping the audience’s experience in real time.

Whether this is your first time in a pit orchestra or you’re continuing to build your performance experience, SOAR! is designed to support your growth as both a musician and a collaborator.

Key Dates

Auditions: April 25 (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
