Drag Story Hour

Simply Fabulous!

Join Veranda L’Ni, Cleveland’s tallest Drag Queen, for an hour of reading, music, and celebration! Drag Story Hour is a welcoming environment where young readers can celebrate diversity and inclusion and break the stigma around harmful gender stereotypes through exposure to queer role models.

Drag Story Hour is ideal for families with children aged 3 to 8 years old. The event lasts approximately one hour. Participants will listen to multiple books, have an opportunity to dance and wiggle, complete a creative activity, and take pictures with Veranda and her guest readers. Each family will receive a take-home copy of the featured book.

2026 – 2027 Drag Story Hour dates:

Saturday, October 24
Saturday, December 12
Saturday, March 20
Saturday, June 26

ABOUT DRAG STORY HOUR:

In the summer of 2019, Near West Theatre and Veranda L’Ni became Cleveland’s premier hosts for Drag Queen Story Hour, a national effort to organize story times with larger-than-life Drag Queens!

In 2022, the DQSH organization introduced a new logo and name to reflect the diversity of performers and promote inclusivity. The name is now Drag Story Hour! Since our first Drag Story Hour, attendance has doubled in size, and we have grown to offer multiple opportunities throughout the year.
