  • NWT COVID-19 Protocol

Community safety is the absolute first priority at Near West Theatre.

In response to the coronavirus crisis, we have transitioned all programs and productions online, and have created new ways to engage virtually with the community through Circle Up, a monthly community check-in, and by reviving a Near West tradition, Coffee & the Arts: an open-invite casual cabaret performance event.

Near West Theatre will bring high quality shows to our audience during the 2020/21 Season via our online streaming platform; we are currently hard at work in digital rehearsals. We will be announcing shows and performances throughout the season, and once available, tickets/streaming access will be available for purchase through our website. Playbills will be accessible digitally as well.

During these unpredictable times, responses to phone calls are delayed. The best way to contact us is through email – find individual staff contact information through Our Staff page.  When in the office, NWT staff follows specific protocol, which includes: temperature checks prior to each work shift, wearing masks at all times when in the building, and washing hands upon arrival and frequently through the work day. Our facility is sanitized throughout the workday.

The Near West Theatre building is currently closed to the public, although rentals that comply with local, state and Near West Theatre guidelines are being accommodated. To inquire about renting our space please visit our Rentals page

Masks are now mandatory in the City of Cleveland unless at home or in your own car. Please wear your mask when out and about, inside and outside. Read the governor’s order here
