  • NWT COVID-19 Protocol

PLEASE BE ADVISED: Community safety is the absolute first priority at Near West Theatre. As of October 13, 2021, we will adopt the following COVID-19 safety protocol for all indoor productions:

VACCINATION

  • Fully vaccinated audience members will be required to provide proof of vaccination with a COVID-19 vaccination card, paper or digital. The vaccination card must show that 14 days have passed since either the second shot of a CDC or WHO-approved two-shot vaccine or since the administration of a CDC or WHO-approved one-shot vaccine.
  • Audience members ages 12 and older who are not vaccinated will be required to provide proof of a negative test result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to entering Near West Theatre, or a negative antigen COVID-19 test result taken within six hours prior to entering our building. At-home tests will NOT be accepted.
  • Youth 11 and younger do not require proof of a negative COVID test.

MASKING

  • All individuals are required to wear masks, properly covering their mouth and nose at all times, regardless of vaccination status. Cloth, surgical, and KN95 masks are all accepted. Masks with exhalation valves, bandanas, scarves, and gaiters are not permitted. Surgical masks are available free of charge at the box office.

PROCEDURES

  • Tickets are emailed to patrons to limit the buildup of traffic in our entryway. Tickets can be presented on a cellphone from a confirmation email or they can be printed at home. For patrons that cannot access either of these options, we will be able to look up your tickets at the Box Office.
  • Please have your tickets ready and on-hand when arriving at the doors of the theatre. Patrons should arrive with their whole group, ready to be seated.
  • All audience members will have a temperature screening prior to entering the building.
  • There is a 10-minute intermission for audience to use the restrooms and head outside to our patio for fresh air.
  • There will be no concessions operations during performance runs.

SEATING

  • NWT will remove balcony seating for social distancing of musicians, but otherwise, the house will remain at full capacity. NWT may update this policy and reduce house size as local case rates fluctuate.

REFUNDS & RESCHEDULING

  • Anyone who has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or is exhibiting symptoms or feeling ill, is asked to stay home. Arrangements can be made with Near West Theatre for an alternate date or refund.

Near West Theatre has endured significant financial loss due to the cancellation of shows since March of 2020. If able, you are invited to make an additional donation when you purchase your tickets to a show, or you can give here. Your support enables us to keep ticket pricing low for all the members of our community.
