At Near West Theatre, we celebrate PRIDE all year long! From our Mainstage productions, to Drag Story Hour with Veranda L'Ni and friends, and our annual partnership with the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland to present Queer Prom, we are proud to serve as allies and a safe space for queer families, participants, and communities. Below are some upcoming events and volunteer opportunities that we can't wait to share with you all!
PRIDE ROCKS - THURSDAY, JUNE 1, 2023
Join us on Thursday, June 1 at the Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to celebrate Pride Rocks! A group of NWT alums will be performing on stage during this event. PRIDE IN THE CLE MARCH & FESTIVAL - SATURDAY, JUNE 3, 2023
We will be marching again this year and can't wait to have an even bigger crowd join us! The march begins at 11 AM. We are also excited to have members of our Spring Production, Head Over Heels, perform at the festival! For more information about PRIDE 2023, visit https://lgbtcleveland.org/pride/
CLEVELAND GUARDIANS COMMUNITY PRIDE NIGHT - FRIDAY, JUNE 9, 2023
Near West Theatre and The Cleveland Guardians are excited to celebrate and honor LGBTQ+ Pride! Cast members from our Teen Summer Production, Bring It On, have been invited to sing the National Anthem. A portion of the proceeds from each Special Ticket Package will benefit Near West Theatre.
VENUS - A JOURNEY THROUGH THE STARS - QUEER PROM 2023
SATURDAY, JUNE 10, 2023 - 6 PM - 10 PM
We are excited to partner up once again with our friends over at the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland and Ninja City, to celebrate this year's Queer Prom! Teens ages 14 - 20 must register by May 26, 2023, in order to attend.

KEVIN KELLYOKE! - FOR THE TREVOR PROJECT
THURSDAY, JUNE 15, 2023 - 9:30 PM
Pride Month wouldn't be complete without a "very nice" Kevin Kellyoke night! Join us for our traditional third Thursday at Ninja City, where Hot Carl will play your favorite pride anthems. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to the Trevor Project and their continued work to support the LGBTQ+ youth.
CHALK FOR CHANGE
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21, 2023 - 2 PM - 6 PM
Help us spread positive messages and love to the LGBTQ+ community by decorating our sidewalks! Chalk will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own. This is a FREE, family-friendly event for all ages.
In the event of inclement weather, we will gather on Wednesday, June 28th!
NEAR WEST THEATRE COMMUNITY PICNIC
EDGEWATER PARK - FRIDAY, JUNE 30, 2023 4:00 PM
We end the month with a gathering of our community to share food, fun, and PRIDE! Bring your beach towels, chairs, games, and your favorite potluck dish to share, as we take in Mother Nature, sing, dance, and breathe in the summer air. Join us on the lower level of the park. Be sure to look for Near West signage!
